Its one of those obscure “Hallmark Holidays,” but did you know that Sunday, October 16 was “Boss’s Day”?   Started in 1958 by Patricia Bays Haroski, a State Farm employee, in honor of her boss and father, “Boss’s Day” celebrates your Boss – whoever they are.

I had never heard of it.  Until Friday, October 14, 2005 at about 9:30 a.m., that is.  At that moment, the last ten years of team training came to signature.  To understand that moment, you have to have a little background . . .

Know That They Care

In our position of loyalty and confidence, estate planning and probate lawyers are often asked to recommend other independent collaborative advisors – typically in the areas of financial, real estate, mortgage, and accounting.  (No one has asked me for recommendations of personal trainers, coaches or chiropractors, but I would probably have a lot more to say about that – some other time).

Microeconomics of Oakland

Our new race for Oakland’s Mayor could be a fight over who is less ignorant of microeconomic development. 

While I have thrown my support to Mr. de la Fuente, I am concerned that both he and Mr. Dellums have a history of casting our problems as insufficient government subsidies of local business.

We rarely consider the possibility that the City of Oakland’s subsidies are the problem.  . . .
